Admissions
We accept applicants with backgrounds from political science, economics, history, philosophy, sociology, literature and other disciplines in the social sciences and humanities.

Applications will be considered until May 1, 2026, on a space-available basis.

Students apply through the website of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) of Columbia University.

BA/MA option
The European Institute offers a BA/MA option for current Columbia undergraduates (Columbia College, the School of General Studies, and Barnard College). Students admitted under this BA/MA option begin graduate coursework for the dual MA/MSc program with LSE in their senior year as they complete undergraduate degrees in their respective departments.
