The Bertelsmann Foundation and the European Institute at Columbia University are organizing a panel discussion about the results of the September 24th general election in Germany and their impact both on German politics and on Germany’s foreign policy.
First Panel: Foreign Policy – Europe and Russia from 5:00 to 6:15 pm. Panelists will discuss Germany’s role in Europe after the French and German elections, and also the EU and Germany’s relations with Russia.
Second Panel: German Politics – Public Opinion and Society from 6:30 to 7:45 pm Panelists will analyze how the election results illustrate current political and social trends in Germany, and will explore their impact on German and European politics. The event will be followed by a reception.
